Here's a superb "Côté bed" in wrought iron and cut brass, with its mortise-fitted iron bed base, (like a Louis Philippe period king-size bed), but this one is very small, probably a 1/4 scale model, intended to be presented to customers for orders. The ironworker probably signed his monogram RD on the cut-out brass front.
A fine antique, a masterpiece or a mid-nineteenth-century presentation piece, a feat of specialized craftsmanship. Size of a doll's bed.
