Naga ritual headdress.
Antique headdress in the shape of a conical helmet made of woven basketry, decorated with boar tusks, horsehair and goat hair. Kalyo-Kengyu ethnic group.
Shape probably inspired by British tropical helmets. The British attempted to colonize the Naga tribes in the 19th and 20th centuries, but were unsuccessful.
Period: mid-twentieth century, circa 1950/60. Good condition.
