Very rare oriental scale of foundouk or caravanserai used to weigh goods on the return of caravans from the Sahara and distant lands. Entirely hand-forged with oriental refinements, it is a monumental object of approximately 150 cms wide and particularly heavy. This scale is to be dated at the most from the 17th century it is an exceptional object testimony to the great era of the desert caravan trade.
