    Rare and authentic black velvet winter hat worn by officials of the Qing Imperial Court. The domed top is topped with a bronze pearl surrounded by two filigree-decorated sections holding red silk fringes that fall around the edge. The pearl at the top once indicated the rank of the official. Currently gold in color, this hat was probably worn by a civil mandarin. The item is sold with a specially designed plexiglass base for display.
