 PIERRE II LE MAIRE (active between 1740 and 1760)

 Open length: 33.4 cm
 
Hinged proportion compass in brass, engraved on both sides and signed "Le Maire fils à Paris," the signature of Pierre II Le Maire. He was the son of Pierre I Le Maire, active around 1668, a royal engineer located in Paris, Quai de l'Horloge du Palais, and the nephew of Jacques Le Maire, a member of the Société des Arts.
