Spectacular mask from Gabon. The Kwélé people create many masks, some of them quite surprising. Our example dates from the mid-20th century and is carved from a light, hard wood very characteristic of masks from this ethnic group. It measures approximately 47 cm excluding the base and is in very good condition. A rare antique object of this quality, with truly astonishing carving.
