Côte d'Ivoire, Baule people, mid-20th century, very attractive anthropo-zoomorphic dance mask featuring a beautiful human face remarkable for the purity of its features, the elegance of its lines and the concavity of its horns. A combination of man and animal, this mask evokes the "Yu" spirits, intermediaries between gods and men.
