Very nice patina of use for this impressive hand drum or "Kundu" collected in the Blackwater region of Papua New Guinea. Large traditional instrument fully engraved with tribal designs and featuring a handle showing stylized animal heads. Hand drums or "kundus", very symbolic for the Papuans because they symbolize the voices of the ancestors, are difficult objects to acquire... Wood, natural pigments and shells. Sold without skin. Traces of use. Very nice specimen. Shipping fee included.
