    TWO SHAMAN'S PIPES
    Kayapo Indians, States of Pará and Mato Grosso, Xingu River Valley, Northern Brazil

    Length: 12 and 13 cm

    Used during rituals to invoke spirit guides, these pipes were reserved for shamans, allowing them to inhale ground tobacco through their nostrils and thus induce hallucinations.
