    The mask is a beautiful oval shape, within which is set the heart-shaped face formed by the lines of the brow ridges, the slit-like, bulging eyes, and the thin slit mouth. This high-quality mask, with its remarkable carving, exists in a timeless space and time, from its earliest days in the Mitumba Mountains of the Maniema forests, where the Lega people lived.
