MENGUY (Frédéric), born in Paris on January 28, 1927, died in Paris on March 23, 2007 (Ec. Fr.).
With a passion for drawing and painting from an early age, Frédéric MENGUY attended evening classes at the Paris workshops. In 1956, while teaching art drawing, he devoted himself entirely to painting and lithography. From 1966 onwards, after discovering the Corbières massif, where he settled for a time, his painting became very colorful. Patrice de la Perrière paid tribute to him, saying that behind the ostentatious joy, Frédéric MENGUY's paintings evoke a certain nostalgia for our childhood souls.
Frédéric MENGUY's works can be found in many renowned private collections. Some have also been acquired by the French state.
