Former facade of "le petit zinc" restaurant, which was also "l'assiette au beurre" in Paris.
Manufactured in Sarreguemines in 1900 by Eugène Martial Simas (1862-1939).
Each panel measures 160 cm high by 60 cm wide and comprises 44 glazed earthenware tiles (rosewood frame).

" ... This thesis aims to place the artist in the historical and artistic context of his time:
Working closely with the Sarreguemines factory, his creations adorned brasseries (Mollard in Paris, La Cigale in Nantes), railway stations such as Tours, private villas, the Paris Opera, the Comédie française, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées.....
Finally, his works are exhibited almost every year at the Salon de la Société nationale des beaux-arts and at the 1900 Universal Exhibition..."
