This lacquered box features a delicate gold lakeside decoration on a black background, enhanced with mother-of-pearl inlays. The gilded copper corners and lockset feature openwork arabesque work. The box opens on the front with a door revealing four drawers with an aventurine lacquer back, one of which is designed to hold inkwells.
It rests on four ebony ball feet.
