    Louis DAGE (1885-1963)
Art Deco glazed ceramic bowl with hazelnut decoration, circa 1930

An elegant ceramic bowl signed by Louis Dage, a prominent figure in French ceramics between the two World Wars.

The piece features a naturalistic decoration of hazel branches adorned with leaves and fruit in low relief, rendered in a delicate palette of greens, browns, and mauves against a cloudy blue and cream background, characteristic of the decorative styles of the period.

The bowl is enhanced by a beautiful copper-plated metal mount with stylized vegetal decoration, forming two lateral handles.

The quality of the glaze, the refinement of the decoration, and the combination with the original metal mount perfectly illustrate the Art Deco aesthetic of the years 1925-1935.

Handwritten signature "Dage" under the base.

    Very good condition.

    Original mount.

A few fine firing cracks consistent with the piece's age.

    Dimensions:

    Width: 20 cm
    Height: approximately 7 cm
