    Pair of black marble vases with red marble and gilded bronze inlay – Empire period
    An elegant pair of small, decorative, ovoid-shaped vases in black marble, finely inlaid with red marble marquetry depicting a stylized floral motif running along the frieze.
    Each vase stands on a circular pedestal made of finely chiseled gilded bronze, decorated with friezes of pearls and palmettes. The body is encircled by a superb gilt-bronze band adorned with a relief decoration of foliage and protruding bearded satyr heads, typical of the Empire style.
    The flared neck, also in gilded bronze and chiseled with stylized foliage, perfectly balances the decorative harmony of the piece.
    A refined work from the late Empire period or early Restoration period, circa 1815–1820.
