    Stoneware with matte and glossy glazes and embossed motifs.

    This rare and astonishing object represents a wooden bombard with an iron rim, like the early models of these firearms on display at the Invalides.
    The size is that of a small real bombard.
    Was it an order for a party, or a particular choice?
    The butt of the bombard is embossed with figures indicating factory work and "Montana" marked by hand.
    This is lathe-work, not molding, requiring the skills of an excellent potter.

    Excellent condition, neither missing nor damaged.
