Pair of large covered baluster vases, in sea green marble veined with white and with chiseled and gilded bronze mounts.
The cut-off base supports a fluted pedestal, carved with knotted Laurel tori. The body is embellished with a frieze of laurel trees and flanked by rams' snouts. The collar benefits from a decoration of knotted garlands suspended from a frieze of meanders.
The oval lid is surrounded by a frieze of gadroons and surmounted by a seed socket.
Rich in ornamentation, these remarkable vases catch the eye with their undeniable presence.
