There is power emanating from these two bookends representing charging goats trained to fight or jump an obstacle... Art Deco "1930", very combative, suitable for supporting books with all their power; This pair signed H. Foreau is based on a veined pink gray breccia marble from the Pyrenees. In very good condition, these subjects were prized in the early 20th century, particularly the goat synonymous with combat strength. With their bronzed and copper patina work, the two pieces are of great interest for decorating a library, or on the front of a desk. Have never been mistreated and constitute a real asset for a retro period decoration. A beautiful decorative element for a modernist decoration. The signature of the two pieces at the base is clearly legible, pieces in good condition
