Small Flail Balance for Delicate weighings, composed in the center of a vertical brass knife, topped with a graduated scale.
The latter, associated with the needle located in the middle of the Scourge, makes it possible to follow the movements and determine the points of balance. This horizontal axis supports two brackets at equidistance, themselves provided with two plates with small handles inlaid with letters, all removable and in brass.
The base of this weighing instrument is in Walnut. It opens with a drawer with a small pull button with fine moldings, revealing a compartmentalized space lined with weights. These last carry the inscription "A * B" and their masses go from 5 to 100 grams. This Decorative element, in working order, is also supplied with two Cups with a tare of 10 grams, which allow us to affirm that this pretty precision Balance was used to measure gold.
It will be noted that this Trebuchet is provided with a device making it possible to manually actuate the lifting of the central axis, thus separating the plates from the support plane in order to place them in suspension.
On the base has been preserved a metal plate, stamp of the Parisian manufacture to which we owe this small Balance: "Maison Besson and the Instruments of Weighing united".
