A chiseled and gilded bronze inkwell, a beautiful rectangular design adorned with a frieze of water leaves in high relief. It rests on glazed feet decorated with scrollwork. On top, a tray for storing pencils, four holes for quills, two bronze cups for sand, and a blue crystal cup for ink in the center. Empire-style work from the Restoration period, early 19th century, circa 1830.

A beautiful piece, ideal for complementing an Empire-style decor on a desk.

Good condition, complete; the inkwell was added later but fits snugly in its place with no wobble.
