Large Louis XV ormolu (and brown patina) inkwell with finely chased rocaille decoration of stylized foliage and shells, in the center two cherubs holding a garland of flowers, terrace adorned with the head of a bearded figure with a laurel wreath, most likely a Greek or Roman god, with two scoops, two light arms and a drawer, 18th century.
This inkwell is in good condition and is of exceptional quality due to its imposing size. It is highly decorative. It is numbered under the drawer and also behind the two putti.
Please note: a few recent screws visible on the underside, some soiling and wear on the gilding, the two small white inkwell containers are probably more recent, slight scratches and wear from the passage of time, take a good look at the photos.
