Early 19th-century French or Dutch school, pair of oil paintings on copper in their original giltwood frames, Empire-Restoration period.

The first depicts a village fire, the night scene, where the glow of the flames is reflected in the river. The villagers fleeing and those looking for water to extinguish the fire can be seen. The second depicts a cottage in a landscape with a blue sky. Very fine paintings, with many details. Early 19th-century period, like the frames.

A beautiful set, one of those small objects that complete an Empire or early 19th-century decor to create an authentic atmosphere, presented here in a beautiful frame.

Very good condition, paintings and frames cleaned by our restorers.
