Chalice and paten in silver vermeil, hallmarked Minerve and silversmith Poussielgue-Rusand Fils*, foot adorned with a beautiful enamel cross, paten with initials IHS, late 19th-early 20th century.
The chalice is in good condition, as is the paten, both of which are hallmarked (see photos).
Please note: slight wear to the vermeil in places, micro-scratches and minor soiling from the passage of time, see photos.
* Poussielgue-Rusand Maurice dit Poussielgue-Rusand Fils: PRF hallmark with anchor, sword and star. Associated with his father Placide since 1885, he inherited the factory on his death in 1891; he inscribed his hallmark, crossed out in 1933. He bought Oudry's designs around 1900. Successive catalogs show a considerable number of objects. Poussielgue-Rusand took part in major exhibitions of contemporary sacred art. Cf Dictionnaire des Arts Liturgiques by Berthod and Hardouin-Fugier.
