This elegant Rococo-style frame, carved and gilded, houses a tender gouache in pastel colors of the Sacred Heart, surrounded by seven angels in a luminous cloud. Saint Peter, in prayer, is at its feet. Beside him are the keys to the earthly and celestial realms over which he watches. To his right are the Longinus and the Holy Lance. To his left is Saint John, recognizable by the eagle that represents him. French work, circa 1770-1820.
