Dating from the late 19th century, this Kammavaca manuscript is a fascinating testament to Burmese tradition. Intended for young boys from high society upon their entry into the monastery, this work is not merely a collection of sacred texts and monastic rules—it is a true work of craftsmanship. Its 16 palm leaves and wooden covers feature lacquered decorations with bird and flower motifs, against which the Pali calligraphy stands out. Despite the absence of its original cord and some signs of wear, this 54 x 12 cm manuscript retains all its solemnity and heritage beauty.
