Large framed ivory Christ, known as a bed base from the Louis XIV or Regency period - early 18th century. This is a great model, both the setting and Christ himself.

Beautiful production from Dieppe, Christ is very finely sculpted: we can see the veins on the arms, the tongue and the teeth in the open mouth. The Louis XIV period frame is in strong relief, richly carved and gilded with gold leaf (original gilding from 300 years ago, very well preserved). The bottom of the frame is covered with pink silk.

Everything is in excellent condition, including Christ's fingers, which remain intact. The frame in excellent condition has been cleaned by our gilder.
