An attractive frame in repoussé brass, with a religious scene depicting Christ washing his feet at its center, set on red velvet.
Foot washing became a tradition in Europe and the East, a ritual ceremony performed on Holy Thursday, before the Last Supper, during the Easter Triduum.
The velvet is slightly damaged, with some verdigris in places and a slightly distorted corner. The cardboard plate on the back was probably added at a later date.
The overall condition is presentable and acceptable.
