Extremely rare Chasse Reliquaire housing several relics of Sancté Mauricij, including two Ex-ossibus relics and a small rolled parchment presenting a prayer evoking an oration by Saint Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274), who was very much in vogue in the 15th century.
The phylactery features a beautiful lettering and the presence of hemp, probably to regulate humidity.

Our hunting monstrance is made of copper leaf. It is topped by a cross piercing a rock crystal ball.
The four corners of the chapel are also covered with a rock crystal bead.
The whole is worked with small, delicately hammered inserts depicting various motifs, including the monogram of Christ and the Marian M.

Access to the relics is from the side through a small door opening on a hinged flap.

French work from the 15th century.
Dimensions 26.5 cm high by 11 cm.
Beautiful condition for this exceptional piece.
