Boulle marquetry console table, Maison Coignerai, Napoleon III period – Part 2 X

This sumptuous Napoleon III period piece, crafted from ebonized pearwood in the 19th century, pays homage to the masterpieces of Charles-André Boulle, the iconic cabinetmaker of Louis XIV.
Its curved door immediately draws the eye: entirely inlaid with finely chiseled brass scrolls against a sumptuous tortoiseshell background, it offers a contrast of rare intensity and exceptional decorative richness.
The original lock, in perfect working order, is complemented by superb bronze keyhole escutcheons, reinforcing the authenticity and refinement of the piece.
The uprights are enhanced by beautiful espagnolettes and gilt-bronze mounts, testifying to the virtuoso craftsmanship of the Second Empire artisans. The highly sculpted sides are enriched with bronze figures and elegant spandrels, adding depth and character to the piece.

The mahogany interior houses two fixed shelves, providing practical storage without compromising the piece's luxurious aesthetic.
The Carrara marble top perfectly complements the cabinet's sinuous lines, adding a touch of elegance and exceptional durability. A Coignerai furniture workshop label is present beneath the marble.
The piece rests on two front legs adorned with acanthus leaf-decorated sabots, further evidence of the attention to detail and the quality of the materials used.
