Old sideboard from the Pays de Caux, Norman manufacture with two superimposed bodies in sculpted Pitchpin.
The lower body is made up of a false frame and two fretwork doors, each with a volute-shaped top. The framing is smashing. The low cut-out and eventful crosspiece accompanies rounded legs ending in a sober snail.
The upper body is set back slightly. It has two glass doors in the same shapes as those of the lower part, accentuating this impression of lightness. These are lined with two shelves. The low cross of the doors accommodates a knockout medallion.
In height, the crosspiece of this Norman furniture, in a gendarme's hat, marries a beautiful hollowed and airy cornice decorated with volutes and molded around its perimeter.
The hinges, hinges and entrances are made of small brass.
This beautiful, quality regional achievement benefits from a light aesthetic combining old and modern. It is noticed by the bright and brilliant color of the pitch pine.
