Our liturgical buffet or cabinet is made of lacquered, gilded, and silvered wood.
It opens with a richly painted door featuring an angel bearing the coat of arms of Pope Clement XIII.
The softly colored angel sits atop a cartouche bearing the name of this same head of the Church, bearing the motto "Clement XIII, Peter Omnipotens Misericors."
The whole piece is framed with baroque foliate fillets on a beige, painted faux marble background.
    Italian work, circa 1760.

    Regular restorations and modifications.
Some missing parts, including the key.
    Dimensions: 108 cm x 97 cm x 41 cm deep. Comes with a modern 8.5 cm high counter-plinth.

Clement XVIII was born in Venice in 1693. Pope in 1758, he died in Rome in 1769. In opposition to Louis XV, he supported the Jesuit order.
