    Louis XIII Period Burgundy Walnut Chest, 17th Century
    Authentic Burgundy chest in solid walnut from the Louis XIII period, dating from the 17th century.

    Of simple and elegant rectangular shape, it rests on flattened ball feet and features beautiful molding around the lid and base.

    The front is adorned with its antique wrought iron lock with a cut-out escutcheon.

    The single-piece lid is reinforced internally by three long, original wrought iron hinges.

    The interior retains its side storage compartment (for documents or valuables), characteristic of antique regional chests.

    The construction with wide assembled panels and visible dovetail joints testifies to traditional 17th-century craftsmanship.

    The walnut has a beautiful honey-brown patina acquired over the centuries.

    This type of chest was used both for storing linens and for transporting and preserving valuables in Burgundian homes. Dimensions
