This large chest of drawers is very decorative, of a regency shape it is a beautiful regional work from the East of France from the Louis XV period, around 1750, of a strongly animated shape it presents a beautiful crossbow cutout for the front, pinched front uprights and equally curved sides, flared at the back, these beautiful movements are highlighted by a beautiful veneer work featuring plum veneer selected for its dark part (heartwood) and its light (sapwood), the cabinetmaker using this veneer to create frames, taking care to distribute the wood tones symmetrically, this refined and highly decorative work is surrounded by amaranth veneer and serves as a frame to a pretty veined veneer that we have not yet identified with certainty, this veneer is connected in 4 sheets in a closed pattern.

The front of the chest of drawers which opens with 3 drawers has, in addition to the crossbow shape, a low crosspiece well contoured with a wide apron veneered with plum tree always alternating between heartwood and sapwood giving a bayadere appearance, the frontage is also enriched on the crosspieces interrupted copper channel intermediaries.

A gilded bronze ornamentation which is the original adorns the drawer fronts with 6 large handles with oak leaf pattern (small lack on the lower right handle) and 3 large keyholes with openwork patterns.

The frame of this chest of drawers is of high quality, confirming meticulous regional workmanship, from a beautiful cabinetmaker in the East of France, it is made only of softwood (fir), the boards are assembled and connected together by tails dovetailed, the back of the chest of drawers is made up of flat-jointed vertical boards held nailed to the rabbet. The 3 drawers are also mounted entirely in fir, assembled with dovetails with the bottoms nailed from below, the drawers slide on intermediate floors.

Each drawer has its original iron slot lock.

The top of the chest of drawers is topped with a thick Rance marble top molded with a Corbin beak, the original marble having disappeared, we had a period marble recut to the shape of the chest of drawers, the rendering is most convincing.

This beautiful chest of drawers has an entirely original frame, there are old customary restorations and a few re-veneers, the whole is in very good condition, and offers a nice varnish to the buffer.
