With its mouldings, its curves, its fretwork of low crosspieces, its volute legs also called "snail" or "shell", and its low crosspiece carved with a beautiful scallop shell, this chest of drawers is in the Louis XV style,
With its construction in fruit wood for the fronts, sides and top, fir and poplar for the backs, intermediate floor, bottom and drawers, the sections of thick wood to build the drawers, the many marks of manual sawing as well as the mortise and tenon assemblies pegged and the top assembled with a miter cut mounted with a key, this chest of drawers dates from the 18th century, it is a beautiful French regional work that can be dated to the middle of the 18th century.
Its bronze trim consisting of 6 handles falling on gadrooned rosettes, 2 small keyholes and 3 large keyholes is period and original.
