Louis XV period commode from the Southwest of France. Mid 18th century. The front and sides are curved with beautiful, elegant proportions. The front jambs are embellished with moldings and end in scrolled feet. The lower crosspieces are curved and molded. The front crosspiece features a beautifully carved shell. The chest opens with five drawers in three rows. The drawer fronts are adorned with molded reserves carved with scrolls. The locks are original and functional, with one key. Bronze handles and escutcheons. The top is molded with a spout. Chest of drawers relacquered in gray and bluish rechampi.
