Very nice Secretary in Mahogany veneer with Blue Turquin Marble top cut in Triple Baguettes.
It has a high drawer, offering a depth of 8.5 cm.
Underneath, it has a flap revealing a space - mostly made of Lemonwood - with two shelves and eight small drawers of different capacities. Two of them are Secret, the others open with small brass pull knobs finely carved in Flowers. All of them are decorated with Amaranth fillets forming frames. A detail rare enough to be highlighted, the interior of these drawers is in Mahogany.
The flap is covered with a Green leather, decorated with a central Vignette, Fleurons d'Angles and, in border, of Friezes, sometimes Gilded, sometimes on hard bottom.
In the lower part, this Secretary is equipped with two doors, with nut closure thus avoiding all deformations. They house three other drawers, but in the English style.
Finally, a last drawer of 9 cm depth hidden in the low Plinth will constitute the last element of this Secretary.
With the exception of this last one, the three other front doors are equipped with a lock, three points for the flap, high and low for the right door. They are in working order and equipped with their respective keys.
We will also appreciate the Doucine moldings framing the central part of the furniture, as well as the discreet but omnipresent lemon tree fillets, visible on the edges of the shelves, the visible face of the legs, the sides...
The absence of compass also makes this Secretary Singular since it is a system with lead weight, complex for the time, which allows an autonomous closing of the flap as of its point of rocking reached.
The quality of the materials used for the conception of this Secretary, the meticulousness and the technicality from which it benefited, make it obviously Remarkable.
