High Secretary with Guillotine, in massive and veneered Blond Walnut, of Louis XVI period.
Its wood top has its edges cut into bevels and molded.
Its upper part is composed, by definition, of two doors, with Mercury mirrors. They contain a compartment lined with a shelf of 33 cm deep. This one is placed on racks and partially adjustable in height.
Underneath, a flap materializes the Secretary space. Its front is made of an attractive panel in Walnut veneer with developed effect. The latter is highlighted by strips forming a frame. Once unfolded, this flap becomes a Writing Table covered with a Green Leather, with central Vignette and golden frieze. The theater is relatively uncluttered. It consists of niches, drawers of various capacities and a locker hidden under one of them.
In the lower part, this piece of furniture offers two large drawers with an identical depth of 17.5 cm and assembled in Queues d'Arondes. Their fronts are designed according to the same process used for the flap.
These five main doors are lockable. They are provided with original brass lock entries, accompanied by their respective keys which are current.
The front posts of this Secretary are fluted on one of their faces.
The whole rests on four legs in sheaths ended by brass shoes.
The sides of this piece of furniture are panelled.
The back is in Fir.
