Superb and rare Regency mahogany Davenport desk, circa 1810.
This small English piece can serve as a writing desk or a superb display cabinet of exceptional quality.
Such fine pieces are rarely seen, especially from the Regency period.. It features a mechanism that allows the upper writing surface to be extended.

On the right side, there are four drawers. Each drawer has mahogany sides and bottoms, a sign of quality. On the left side, the front is adorned with four false drawers in the same style as the main drawers.

Both the right and left sides also have pull-out slides.

The upper section consists of a slanted drop-front lined with leather. It reveals a storage compartment with four drawers. One of these drawers is a false drawer; when its knob is pulled, it opens a mechanism that reveals a hidden secret drawer on its right side.
Beautiful patina and in perfect condition.

Delivery available in Belgium, France, and internationally.
Viewable in our showroom at 41 Rue Henri Wafelaerts, 1060 Brussels, Belgium.
