Lady's furniture in Boulle marquetry richly ornamented with bronzes and brass inlays on a background of tortoiseshell.
This blackened pear wood piece of furniture is composed in the lower part of a table opening with a large drawer, surmounted by a writing tablet. A gilt and chiseled bronze rod follows the lines of the top. The turbulent belt is decorated with a composition of nets and brass scrolls on a background of deep red tortoiseshell. In the center, a large drawer is decorated with a large bronze entrance with musical attributes and a becoming knot, accompanied by an original lock in working order and a later key. Above the drawer, a shelf pulls out thanks to a charming sculpted bronze knob. It slides and reveals a burgundy leather with blind stamp, golden stamp and central motif.
The front and sides of this office part are turbulent and concave. The table rests on four arched legs adorned in the upper part with a bronze fall depicting the bust of a baby doll surrounded by foliage and drapery. These feet have a richly ornamented front with scales and brass inlay. The ridge is accompanied by a scalloped ring ending in a gilt bronze sabot.
In addition, this charming cabinet has a wall unit with two identical doors and two drawers. These are pulled by a nicely carved bronze handle and surround an escutcheon decorating the facade. Above, the two doors are domed and chiseled with arabesques, interlacing and brass scrolls. They attract attention with their gilded bronze frame and their becoming color. Beautiful chiseled entrances accompany an original lock in working order and its key. The central part called joint cover is gilt bronze scalloped with leaves. On each side, the adjoining half-column uprights have: a flowery macaron, beautiful floral falls and brass marquetry with scales in the middle.
Finally, the upper part reminiscent of the "policeman's hat" shape is decorated with a bronze sculpture representing a woman and children surrounded by flowers.
The entire piece of furniture is decorated with large gadroon moldings in gilt bronze and is topped with two vases with Greek handles.
The interior of this furniture, bottom and sides, is mahogany. As well as the adjustable shelf on rack.
With its ideal dimensions, this Napoleon III cabinet will catch the eye. It will bring character and beauty to your interior.
