Liège Regency-style display cabinet, 18th-century work.

This important and interesting piece of furniture, glazed on the front and sides, serves as a display cabinet, or rather a silver cabinet, for exhibiting precious tableware. It is a rare example of this type of piece. It opens with two glazed doors separated by a fixed panel and two drawers in the cornice. The sides of the cabinet are also glazed.

This is a typical Liège piece, dating from the second half of the 18th century, made of high-quality, figured oak. The wood is carved with numerous motifs from the Louis XIV repertoire, such as facing "C"s, acanthus leaf finials, scrolls, palmettes, and florets. The glass is intricately pierced, reminiscent of the tracery found on mirrors from the Louis XIV and Regency periods, adding considerable refinement and interest to the piece. The vast majority of the glasses are original, with their charming irregularities.

The upper part of the cabinet is flanked by a wide corbel carved with a cartouche.

The cabinet is in very good condition, with a beautiful antique patina.
