Sumptuous showcase in Rio rosewood, rosewood and sycamore veneer, attributed to the famous French designer Jules Leleu (1883 – 1961).
In the upper part, this piece of furniture has a showcase with two sliding glass doors, embellished with tabs on each side. The interior is composed of two shelves, also in glass, adjustable on three points. The bottom and the back are covered with mirrors and the sides are in sycamore.
In the lower part, we find two eventful doors framing a high curved drawer. The whole has on the front a marquetry consisting of a frame of two lemon tree nets, with movement, and a large diamond with violet wood, inlaid with a plant composition of flowers and foliage.
The doors have original locks and keys in perfect working order.
Upon opening, we discover a sycamore interior lined with two shelves whose edge is inlaid.
Two large attached columns form the uprights of this unique piece of furniture. They are embellished at the top with three protruding rings and a circular bronze element on top.
The perimeter of this piece of furniture has a slightly molded frame beveled inwards. Note that the low crosspiece is also eventful and embellished with a molding that goes around the piece of furniture.
The front legs are dressed in front with an adjusted bronze element.
With its precious wood species and refined shapes, this display cabinet attributed to Leleu has benefited from remarkable design work.
