Elegant Writing Case Display in solid Mahogany and Burl Mahogany veneer from Napoleon III period.
This furniture has a display case in the upper part, resting at the front on two curved consoles carved with flowers, foliage and acanthus leaf. The backdrop also supports this structure, framed on either side by a graded solid mahogany element that ends in a volute. This display case has two doors, presenting in their center an ovelong window. It is embellished with a solid mahogany molding around its edge, and sculpted decorations: a shell in the lower part, and a composition of flowers and leaves with a ribbon in the upper part. These doors, fitted with an original high and low lock and its key, open onto a particularly neat interior in maple speckled, furnished with a mahogany field shelf. The display case is topped with an element in the shape of a policeman's hat also decorated with a shell motif with foliage and ribbon, and with a small cornice.
The lower part consists of a table, the top of which is composed of a set of four symmetrical mahogany brambles. It opens with a writing drawer lined with leather with sliding storage, the back of which is in bird's eye maple.
The whole rests on four beautifully curved legs, molded on each side, which end in a volute, on which we find a carved pattern of shell and acanthus leaf.
This display case with pleasant curves will find its place in a refined interior, you will appreciate the remarkable cabinet work of this piece of furniture dating from the Second Empire.
