    Small blackened wood coffee table Napoleon III period
    Richly adorned with brass baguettes and a gilded bronze base.
    It is topped with an inlaid black Belgian marble.
    The belt opens with a drawer, and two glass-bottomed trays in the lower section.
    It bears the nameplate of ALPH. GIROUX, 43 boulevard des Capucines - Papeterie, Fantaisies.
    Restored in our workshop, finished with buffer varnish.

    *Alphonse Giroux et Cie, a famous Parisian curiosity and tabletterie store located at 7 rue du Coq-Saint-Honoré, whose activity spanned the period from the Consulate to the end of the Second Empire. The company was founded by François-Simon-Alphonse, then managed from 1838 by his two sons Alphonse-Gustave (1810-1886) and André (1801-1879). A. Giroux moved his store to 43, boulevard des Capucines in 1857, where he remained until 1867, when he sold his house and sign to his cousin Ferdinand Duvinage et Harinkouck.
