Charming small chiffonier table in light mahogany veneer and Louis XV / Louis XVI transition style.
Its body with the structure called "drum", which by definition is high on foot, with an oval silhouette, offers a top of the same shape. The latter, bordered by an openwork brass gallery with recess at the front, features a pretty decoration of wild flowers in its center. This medallion on a dark rosewood background is bordered by a frieze alternating lemon tree essence and dark wood. Inlays are omnipresent on this piece of furniture, also, in the same spirit, we will find some on its concave sides and on the facades of its storage. The floral theme is recurrent, except on the spacer plate where is represented a set of writing instruments.
Three small drawers all offering a depth of 5.5 cm make up the front of this furniture and they are all equipped between their rows, a crossbar and a dust cover. Each of these doors has an original lock in working order, as well as a cut-out entrance and keys added later to the fittings.
This table with delicate lines is made up of four slightly projecting uprights at the top, curved and embellished with the same threads described above. The four legs end in bronze hooves and are connected by a spacer tablet made of kidney, surrounded by a rod forming a bowl and illustrated with representations such as a book, an inkwell and its quill.
Lightweight and adaptable, this center table can be placed in the room of your choice and be used as a bedside or side table, at your convenience. It will undoubtedly be noticed for the quality of cabinetry it has benefited from, making this chiffonier table a piece of furniture filled with refinement and thoroughness.
