Large Louis XV style flat desk after Charles Cressent in marquetry and gilt bronze

Important Louis XV style flat desk richly adorned with gilt bronze mounts.
The undulating front opens with three large drawers.
The top features three surfaces covered in beige leather tooled in gold, framed with precious wood decorated with frieze and marquetry.
The quality of the ornamentation is remarkable: corner mounts with busts of female figures, feet, drawer frames, drop handles, and a molding are all finely chased and gilded.
The cabriole legs terminate in bronze sabots.
The back is also crafted, allowing for a centerpiece display.
The overall design, the abundance of bronze mounts, and the quality of the wood evoke prestigious Parisian pieces from the late 19th or early 20th century, in the style of the great cabinetmakers of the 18th century.
