Lacquered work table, in blackened wood decorated with Indochinese scenes, from the Napoleon III period.
This work table decorated with gilding forming landscapes, pagodas and characters, opens by a flap with a rich scene presenting the emperor in front of his court. This flap opens with a hook lock in working order.
Inside, we discover a storage space consisting of numerous boxes decorated with boxes and sewing accessories carved meticulously.
The trapezoidal belt, also decorated with scenes of Asian life, has a sliding element at the bottom that reveals a sewing basket dressed in a red draped fabric with a wooden bottom.
The whole rests on two lyre feet decorated with delicate flowers. They are connected by a crossbar and end with golden claw feet particularly attractive.
One will appreciate the artistic delicacy of this work which has the particularity of being complete.
