Coat rack in cast iron Art Nouveau period – with original tray

Free-standing cloakroom in cast and painted cast iron, Art Nouveau period, circa 1900-1910.

Slender and symmetrical silhouette characteristic of the period. The top is crowned with a finial in the shape of a flowered urn with gold highlights, topped with a tulip button. The central part receives a beveled oval mirror set in a beaded frame with gold highlights, framed by scrolls and vegetable arabesques in cast iron. Several levels of double coiled hooks, decorated with floral motifs, allow you to hang coats and hats. The lower part includes a circular umbrella holder ring and rests on an original oval catcher tray, decorated with floral motifs in strong relief.

Original white/gray paint showing flaking and wear consistent with the age of the part; black cast iron appears in places, notably on the tray and the ring. No shortage reported by the seller. Cleaning and repainting to be assessed according to use. Entirely original part with its receiver.
