Thonet No. 222 side table in bentwood, dated to around 1904, with dimensions matching those in the 1914 catalog. It can be used as a desk, work table, or dining table. It bears the number 8122 in the second nomenclature. Original American mahogany finish under shellac varnish. The tabletop is made of solid oak; its “well-worn” patina has been preserved and is in fine condition. The palmette motifs give the piece its full volume, a certain elegance, and even a distinct air of sophistication.
No markings, but the style and dimensions are conclusive.
The apron beneath the tabletop provides ample space to sit on a standard chair with a seat height of 47 cm.
