On the Barovier & Toso manufacture:
Founded in 1295, the Barovier & Toso manufacture is still in operation. Angelo Barovier was one of the most famous members of this family, a Renaissance glassmaker who died in 1461 who notably invented so-called “crystalline” glass.
It was in 1878 that the company took the name of Barovier Frères, before joining forces in 1936 with the glassmaker Toso.
