Condition report
Good condition, no defects to the crystal, no deformation to report for the silver, a few scratches due to age and some age-related wear to the vermeil.
Very fine condition for a 142-year-old piece. The mount still features its original beautiful vermeil. Superb workmanship, both for the thick, deep-cut crystal and for the setting, which is made of solid 1st-rate silver, whereas it was more common to use 2nd-rate silver in this period when it was intended to be gilded.
